A Supernatural Team
Text: Eph. 4:11
"And he gave some, Apostles; and some, Prophets; and some, Evangelists; and some, Pastors and Teachers."
In every football team there are eleven players, a captain and a coach.
And the team is further broken down into; the defence, the midfield and
the attack. Notice here that the captain is not a different player
altogether, he's part of the team but a distinguished member, A leader
amongst them. It means that without the efforts of other players, he's
incapacitated, so no team leader Lords over his team but must be a team
player. Therefore, a team needs the collective effort of all players to
achieve success.
The same principle is applicable to the body of
Christ. As an organ, there must be a head with other important parts of
the body in a healthy relationship in order to achieve supernatural
results. It's a supernatural team put up together by the Coach to carry
out divine assignments here on earth. The Coach is Christ or the General
Overseer in the person of the holy Spirit. The Apostles becomes the
Captain of the team and not the General Overseer, while the prophets,
evangelists, pastors and teachers are team players. What's their
assignment? "For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the
ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. Till we all come in
the unity of faith...."(vs 12-13).
Christ set-up the leadership of
his church in a unique way with the five-fold ministries that are
compatible in One Spirit(vs 4). The number five connotes Grace
numerologically, which is to say that the supernatural team can only
function properly with the faith of one another in love(vs 15, 32). And
is incomplete without one another, so make sure your ministry is
developed in his grace in order not to paralyse or deform the work of
the ministry. Without each other, we remain imperfect, that's why we
need one another to grow into perfection both individually or
collectively. We are a Supernatural team.
PRAYER;-
My heavenly
father, help me to identify my calling in the ministry that I may edify
the body of Christ unto perfection in Jesus name - Amen!
Have a Gracious day!
