LEARN TO WAIT

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES **learn to wait ** Friday, April 29th . Pastor Chris
The Bible is replete with accounts of men and women who achieved so much by adding patience to their faith; as did Abraham, Sarah, Joseph and Moses. This virtue is further developed through tribulations. “And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience” (Romans 5:3).
Many are impatient because they really don’t trust God, so they try to “help” Him bring His Word to pass quickly. Some have erred terribly in this regard, for example, King Saul; he was to wait for Samuel to come offer the sacrifice, in preparation for the war against the Philistines. Offering that sacrifice was exclusively the responsibility of Samuel the prophet; but when Samuel delayed, Saul couldn’t wait. He went ahead and offered the sacrifice.
Interestingly, he was still at it, when Samuel walked in. Samuel then said to him, “Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever. But now thy kingdom shall not continue...“ (1 Samuel 13:13-14). God had made a promise to Saul that his dynasty would be forever, but Saul lost it. His demonstration of impatience cost him and his lineage the kingship.
Many still make similar mistakes today. Some people want to make major decisions, and instead of them to stay on the Word, which is divine counsel, direction, or guidance, they go ahead and do what’s on their minds, saying they prayed about it.
In your walk with the Lord, trust Him, and be patient. If you’re looking to Him for a miracle, trust Him, knowing that He never fails, and His timing is always perfect. James 1:4 says, “But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” You need patience for a balanced, successful and stable Christian life.
PRAYER
Dear Father, my faith in your Word is unshakeable, and my trust in you is absolute! I’m not moved by circumstances, because I know that come what may, I’ll forever be victorious. Your Word is my guiding light, causing me to make right, and wise decisions, and live right, for your glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

WALKING IN HIS PERFECT WILL

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES **Walking In His Perfect Will** Tuesday, April 26th . Pastor Chris
...that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Romans 12:2).
There’s the good will, the acceptable will, and the perfect will of God. Always, what the Lord desires is for us to walk in His perfect will. The perfect will is God’s design for you. That’s God’s definite will for your life.
A clear evidence of spiritual maturity is the ability to discern and walk in God’s perfect will for your life. And this isn’t something that’s difficult; God’s Word expresses His perfect thoughts and opinions, so you can trust the Word. Psalm 119:105 describes the Word as a lamp unto your feet, and a light unto your path. The Word gives you direction and guidance. So, you need to know God’s Word to understand and walk in His perfect will for you.
Praying fervently and consistently in tongues is equally very important in recognizing and walking in God’s perfect will. Praying in tongues, amongst its other benefits, conditions your spirit to be attuned and sensitive to the Holy Spirit, making it easier for you to receive direction and guidance in your spirit.

There’re people who are into certain jobs and businesses because it’s good, yet that’s not God’s perfect will for them. When you function in His good or acceptable will, you may or may not fulfil your destiny; you may or may not achieve God’s purpose for your life. Living in the perfect will of God is living in God’s best, because you’re in His exact plans and purpose for you at a particular time.
In your life, before you take any major steps or decisions, be sure to find out God’s perfect will by spending time in fellowship with the Holy Spirit, and meditation on the Word. Don’t settle for the good or acceptable will; walk in His perfect will. It’s the safest place to be.
PRAYER
I delight in you, O Lord! You make my paths straight and plain. Your Word is within my heart, and I walk circumspectly, in your perfect will at every stage of my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Colossians 1:9-10
For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

DON'T ASSUME YOU KNOW

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES **Don’t Assume You Know** Tuesday, April 19th . Pastor Chris
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).
As you grow in Christ, one important decision you must make is to continually increase your knowledge of the Word. Be passionate to know the Lord more through careful and diligent study of the Scriptures. Give more attention to the Word of God; digest it into your spirit; meditate on it. Never assume that you already know enough of the Word.
There’re people who just believe they’ve known the Word enough; they’ve become so “familiar” with the Word, and think they know everything in the Scriptures. Such people only realize the paucity of the Word in their spirit in the hour of crisis; that’s when they find themselves acting in fear and anxiety. That’s proof that the Word was really not inside them. Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly...,” not scarcely.
Abide in knowledge. The more you study the Word, the more you discover who Christ is, His character and nature, and also, the more you discover who you are in Him. And as you study, He manifests Himself to you in increasing glory. Our opening verse says, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God....” In other words, study to be successful; study to be updated, and increase your knowledge.
The Bible says through knowledge shall the just be delivered (not only out of trouble), but into their inheritance (Proverbs 11:9). Christ has brought us freedom from defeat and freedom from sin; He’s given us the ability to decide the kind of life we want to live. He’s brought us liberty; He said, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).
When you get to know the Word of God, you become free in the area of the truth that you know. So, continually fuel your appetite for the Word of God. Meditate on the Scriptures day and night, and you’ll be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, fruitful, productive, and prospering exceedingly in all that you do.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for giving me your Word, a material to build my life with, and usher myself into higher levels of glory, promotions, victories and success. As I meditate on the Word, your wisdom exudes from me, and your grace causes me to be fruitful and productive in all things, and function excellently, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

GIVE HIM YOUR ATTENTION

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES **Give Him Your Attention** Saturday 16th April: Pastor Chris
Listen to what I am saying; pay attention to what I am telling you (Isaiah 28:23 GNB).
Some people don’t pay attention to the different activities of the Spirit that happen during the service when they’re in Church. They get carried away such that even though the presence and power of God could be so strong in that environment, their lives are not improved, because they’re distracted.
Your undivided attention is so vital each time you’re in the presence of the Lord in the Church, and even during your personal devotions. God always has something special for you, a word for you that’ll increase your glory, but you’ve got to pay the right currency—your attention. When you give Him your attention, you get everything He has for you.

God’s Word is God’s answer, and with your attention, you allow its free entrance into your spirit, until it changes your frame of mind, your way of thinking, and influences your words and delivers your inheritance to you. So, in praying to, and worshipping the Lord, always let it be from your spirit, with focus and attention. That way, the Spirit will minister to you, even as you minister to Him.
Give the Lord your attention; give Him your heart; give Him your mind. Let Him minister to you, and through you. Hebrews 10:22 says, “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith....” This doesn’t mean to “come close” to God, because you’re already in Him, and He in you. Rather, it refers to turning your attention to Him, making Him your focus. It’s a terminology that refers to a
consciousness of your spirit, because we can’t draw any nearer to Him than we already did; we’re one with Him.
Howbeit, our hearts can be far away. That’s why the Bible says, “draw near with a true heart.” So, every opportunity you have to fellowship with the Lord, give Him your full attention, and open your heart to receive all He has for you.
PRAYER
Blessed Lord, I thank you for the blessing of serving you, and worshipping you from my spirit. You’re all that thrills my soul; you’re more than life to me! I love you, precious Holy Spirit, and my whole heart is focused on you even now, to receive your glorious touch, and be transformed in your presence, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

BE HONOURABLE

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES
WEDNESDAY, 13TH APRIL, 2016
PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME.
THEME: BE HONOURABLE.
The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth (Psalm 37:21).
Someone once asked, “Does God bless borrowed money, including borrowed money given to Him as
offerings and seed?”
There’s nothing wrong if you borrow money, but make sure you pay back; otherwise, God doesn’t like it. The Bible says, “The wicked borroweth and payeth not again.” God describes the one who doesn’t pay his or her debt as wicked. God wants you to serve Him with wholehearted devotion, and willingness of mind, but at the same time, with honesty. Your integrity should be impeccable.
There’re people who don’t have credibility, and don’t care about their integrity. When they owe, they refuse to pay, and start praying for debt cancellation. Others deliberately stay away or hide from their creditors. This is wrong; it’s the way of the wicked. The word “wicked” in our opening verse describes one whose ways are perverse; someone who isn’t walking in the light of God; and that shouldn’t be you. If you owe any debt, don’t let it linger; pay promptly.
Most people who don’t pay back when they borrow, lack integrity, and as a result, they delay their own blessing. If you’re an employer, don’t owe your employees their salaries. When people work for you, don’t delay their payments. We’ve been called to live a higher life. We’re the light of the world. Let the character of Christ be expressed through you always, and in all things.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I rejoice greatly, because I know that you care for me, and all of my needs have been entered into your supply system. I don’t lack any good thing, and I owe no one, for I’m abundantly supplied; I'm prosperous, and in all circumstances, self-sufficient, requiring no aid or support. Thank you Father, for all things are mine, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

ESTABLISH HIS WORD IN YOUR LIFE

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES **Establish His Word In Your Life** Tuesday 12th April: Pastor Chris
In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes (Daniel 9:2-3).
In the scripture above, Daniel was praying about the deliverance of Israel. He had read in the book of Jeremiah that their deliverance would come after seventy years in exile, and as he studied, he realized that that time had come. Even though it was time for the children of Israel to be free from their many years of captivity, Daniel knew he still had to pray.
As Daniel prayed, God sent Angel Michael to bring down Persia. Persia had to fall before the children of Israel could be free from captivity. Daniel didn’t take chances; he said, “I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes” (Daniel 9:3).
He could have said, “Since God said His children would be free after seventy years of captivity, I don’t need to bother; I’ll wait on Him to do as He had said.” No; Daniel was smarter than that! He didn’t only pray to God, he included fasting as well. He was determined to see to it that the prophetic utterance of God came to pass. How inspiring!
This should let you know that just because God says something will happen in your life doesn’t mean it’ll happen, if you don’t do something about it. You have to establish His Word in your life; you have to act on His Word. What prophecies or words of the Spirit have you received concerning your health, business, academics, finances, family, job, or future? Don’t just sit idly by and say, “If God says it’ll happen, it’ll happen.” It doesn’t work that way. You have a role to play in bringing to fruition His Word concerning you.
Psalm 119:89 tells us that God’s Word is forever settled in heaven; however, it’s your responsibility to settle or establish the Word in your own life by acting on it, doing what it says. Act on the knowledge of God’s Word that has come to you, and your faith will prevail.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the wisdom to act on your Word always, and follow the guidance and promptings of the Spirit! Through your Word, I have increased wisdom, and spiritual understanding, knowing and walking in your perfect will at all times. I live a prosperous, healthy, and vibrant life in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

KEEP MAKING PROGRESS

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES **Keep Making Progress** Monday 11th April: Pastor Chris
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit (John 3:8).
When you’re born again, you’re a mystery to the world, because you’re born of the Spirit. The Natural man can’t understand you. By the Spirit, David said, “I am as a wonder unto many...” (Psalm 71:7). That’s what God has made everyone that’s born of the Spirit. However, some Christians don’t know this; so, they live ordinary lives. You’re not ordinary; you’re not of this world. You belong in, and function from, a different realm: the realm of the Spirit.
The Lord Jesus, in our opening text said, “The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.” In other words, those who are born again live by the Spirit. And the Spirit, like the wind, is always moving. Jesus didn’t tell us that the Spirit is like air; He said it’s like the wind. Wind is moving air. So the Spirit, like the wind, can’t be conditioned in one place. Wind is air in motion.
In the same vein, when you’re born again, born of the Spirit, you’re a spirit in motion. Hallelujah! There’re people who have been in one spot for a long time; they’ve not made any progress in life; everything seems stagnant. That’s not for the one who’s born again and filled with the Holy Spirit; he’s always in motion: upward and forward; no stagnation. That’s my life. I’m always moving, always making progress.

That should be your experience. Never allow stagnation in any area of your life. When someone asks, “How are you doing?” you ought to say, “I’m excellent and full of glory; I’m making progress with giant strides!” Glory to God!
CONFESSION
I’m growing stronger by the day, like a cedar in Lebanon, and flourishing like the palm tree! I move in the Spirit, and of my increase, progress, and prosperity, there shall be no end! I live the transcendent life of endless possibilities and victories unlimited! Glory to God!

HE IS OUR MERCY SEAT

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES **He’s Our Mercy Seat** Friday 8th April: Pastor Chris
Being justified (declared righteous) freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God (Romans 3:24-25).
Due to Adam’s transgression, man was separated from God. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Sadly, many have only stayed on the negative part of this scripture, without taking a step further. The twenty-fourth and twenty-fifth verses have so much faith-building thoughts. Yes, all men sinned in Adam, and fell short of the glory of God, but the problem was fixed in, and by, Jesus Christ.
We’ve been justified, declared righteous freely, by the grace of God through the redemption that’s in Christ Jesus. In our opening scripture, the Greek word translated “propitiation” is “hilaste?rion,” and it means the place of mercy, or “Mercy Seat.” In the Old Testament, the Mercy Seat was the covering of the ark of God. God met there with the priests, and His presence was on the Mercy Seat. It was the place where the blood of sacrifice was sprinkled in the presence of God; a place for atonement of sins (Leviticus 16:15-16).
In the New Testament, God presented Christ as a propitiation or “Mercy Seat.” 1 John 4:10 says, “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” Jesus Christ is the covering of the ark; He is God’s place of mercy for us. So, just as the Mercy Seat was the place for atonement of sins in the Old Testament, today, the Lord Jesus Himself is the propitiation and atonement for the sins of the world.
God, in His righteousness, in His equity, has completely removed our sins as though they never existed; He did this in Christ Jesus! This is available to every man in Christ Jesus; Christ is your Mercy Seat. We’re no longer short of His glory, because He (Christ Jesus) was wounded for our transgressions; the predicament was fixed in Jesus. He made it possible, by His death, burial and glorious resurrection for us to have eternal life, and live righteously unto God. Blessed be His Name forever!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for lavishly pouring out your love on me, demonstrating that I’m worth the life of your Son, Jesus. His blood was shed on the cross for the remission of sins, and now, I walk in your righteousness. I’m compelled by love to turn others from sin unto righteousness, and from the power of Satan unto God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
FURTHER STUDY:
1 John 4:8-10
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Hebrews 4:14-16
Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

THE VICTORY SHOUT

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES **The Victory Shout** Tuesday 5th April: Pastor Chris
Listen to the glad shouts of victory in the tents of God’s people: The LORD’s mighty power has done it! (Psalm 118:15 GNB).
Chapter six of the Book of Joshua tells us how the walls of Jericho fell down flat for the children of Israel to go in and take over the city. They didn’t need cranes or heavy duty equipment to crumble the walls; they did it with a shout! Read the inspiring account in Joshua 6:2-5; they had wanted to go into Jericho, but the wall prevented them, for they were too high and too thick. However, God gave them an instruction. He didn’t instruct them to pray, or beg. All He asked them to do was to march round the wall without saying anything, and then give a shout at the appointed time. What
followed was breathtaking: the walls fell down, flat.
There’s something about our shout in the Holy Ghost; it’s not ordinary. When people haven’t received the Holy Spirit, that’s when things like this mystify them. If you go to a Church where they never shout, something is surely missing: it’s the power of the Holy Ghost, because once the Holy Ghost gets anywhere, the shout of a king is there; He announces His presence.
Recall what happened on the day of Pentecost: the day the Holy Spirit began His dispensation with the Church. The Bible says, “And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting” (Acts 2:2). Notice the description: the sound was as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. The Holy Spirit announced His presence with a loud sound! Were they quiet afterwards? No! Acts 2:4 says, “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost,
and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
When the Holy Ghost comes into your life, irrespective of how quietly you were born, it makes no difference; you can’t be quiet anymore. I don’t mean to say you become loquacious; I’m talking about the power of the Spirit stirred in you to shout and affirm the Word with boldness. It’s not a shout of pandemonium, or fright, but the shout of a king; the victory shout!
PRAYER
Dear Father, thanks be unto you, for always leading me in triumph in Christ, and manifesting through me the sweet aroma of your knowledge in every place. Christ lives in me, and He’s my all. Thank you for making me a testimony of your abundant grace, and unending love, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Psalm 20:5 GNB
“Then we will shout for joy over your victory and celebrate your triumph by praising our God. May the Lord answer all your requests.”
2 Chronicles 20:21-22
And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever.
And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
1 Corinthians 15:57
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

EMPOWERED TO PROSPER

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES **Empowered To Prosper** Monday 4th April: Pastor Chris
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you (John 15:16).
Psalm 1:3 reveals something phenomenal about you, and the life of extraordinary prosperity God has called you to. It says, “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” This should let you know that your prosperity isn’t dependent on the economics and economies of this world. The people of the world spend time looking for the moving or “booming” business or trade to invest in. That shouldn’t be your thinking, as the seed of Abraham. Think from a higher
level.
Notice again the words of the Spirit in Psalm 1:3: “...and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” He didn’t say you’ll prosper if the business is what’s trending or booming. The emphasis is “whatsoever”; in other words, there’s an empowerment in your life to cause you to prosper in all things.
In the Old Testament, Moses spoke to the children of Israel, and gave them God’s promises. Imagine what he said God would do for them: “And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give
thee” (Deuteronomy 7:13). Think about that! Everything that had to do with them was blessed. As long as it was connected to them, it prospered.
Now, in the New Testament, we have a better covenant, established upon better promises: “But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises” (Hebrews 8:6). Therefore, anything you’re involved in should, of necessity, prosper; anything! The important factor isn’t what’s trending; the important factor is you. If you’re in it, then it’s blessed. Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for the inherent ability in me to prosper in all that I do. As the seed of Abraham, everything that’s connected to me is blessed—my finances, business, job, family, etc. I walk in the consciousness that I’m blessed to be a blessing, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
FURTHER STUDY:
Galatians 3:8-9
And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
Galatians 3:28-29
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Jeremiah 17:7-8
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
