“For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect” (Romans 4:14)
Some Christians have made their faith void, and the promise of God in their lives of none effect, because they don’t understand the accurate basis for their faith. Faith isn't trusting in your works; rather, it’s a response to God’s Word.
For
example, there’re those who think that the reason they ought to be
living in divine health, or have excellent finances is because of
certain things they've been “doing” right; but that’s wrong. That’ll
mean trusting in your works. The accurate basis for faith is God’s Word
which reveals to us what Christ came to do. That’s what should form the
basis for your believing and confession. 2 Corinthians 4:13 says “We
having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed,
and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.”
So, it starts with believing – believing the Word. Then you ought to speak on the basis of your believing. Be conscious of who and what He’s made you. And declare these beautiful realities about yourself, because “…he hath said… so that we may boldly say…” (Hebrews 13:5-6).
This is the principle of making that which He already consummated real in your life.
