Strong in Faith
Text: Rom. 4:20
Many Christians want Abraham's blessings but don't know how to command his blessings. I have discovered by the revelation of God's word why he enjoyed so much blessings that ran through generations till date. Remember, God promised to bless the nations of the world through his seed (Gen. 12:3). We are the seed of Abraham by faith in Christ Jesus but if we must enjoy same blessing we need to develop strong faith not staggering. The same grace is available today through our covenant with Christ Jesus as interpreted by Apostle Paul in this chapter.
Here's the revelation; "he staggered not at the promises of God"....his faith in God's word was unwavering, unperturbed and unshakeable. Faith is not the absence of doubt but the presence of die-hard believe in God's promises. Faith is generally a strong conviction, absolute trust, confidence, reliance upon and believe in something. God is more interested in strength not speed that why he takes time to build those he chose as leaders. He's more interested in quality than quantity, spiritual strength than numerical strength, soaring than speeding, roaring than roaming about in unbelieve. Matter of fact, it was strong faith that gave Abraham the capacity for generational blessings. Little wonder the wealthiest men in the kingdom of God today are men of dangerous faith, Haggins, Copeland, Oyedepo etc. However, the greatest challenge against strong faith is FEAR(false evidence appearing real) powered by UNBELIEVE. But the greatest strength of faith is the revelation of God's word powered by BELIEVE in the word.
Father Abraham defiled the law of fear and unbelieve but operated in the law of faith because God's word was written in his heart so he believed without doubts. Faith to human sense is foolishness because revelation can not be explained intellectually, it's the wisdom of God revealed to a man for a specific purpose(Job 32:8, 1st Cor. 3:18-20 Duet. 29:29, Psalm 25:14). That purpose is what releases strong conviction in the spirit of a man to move, stay, wait, run or even die for what he believes as the instruction may be.
3 steps to be strong in faith
1. Develop a personal relationship, fellowship or devotion with the person of the holyspirit (John 3:3-5, Matt. 3:11). The spirit of God inspires and reveals God's word to us for action.
2. Pray and ask Jesus Christ to help your unbelieve (Mark 9:24)
3. Always hear and listen to the word of Christ or anointed messages from servants of God (Rom. 10:17)
Prayer:
My heavenly father, I am grateful for your grace over my life, I pray that you help me increase my faith in God in Jesus Christ name - Amen!
