PRAY IN THE NAME OF JESUS, BY PASTOR CHRIS

PRAY IN THE NAME OF JESUS
When we look through the scriptures, there is no place where the Christian is asked to pray to Jesus or through Jesus. What the Bible teaches is that we pray in the Name of Jesus which is the right way to pray.
There are folks who when they pray, would say, “Lord Jesus, I ask that you grant me such and such in Jesus name.” That is wrong; you don’t pray to Jesus in the Name of Jesus, neither do you pray to the Father through the Name of Jesus. You pray to the Father in the Name of Jesus according to John 16:23 which says, “Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my Name, He will give it to you.” You may fellowship with Jesus and tell Him how much you love Him, and tell Him things that are in your heart, but you don’t pray to Him.
As Christians, we don’t need an intermediary between us and the Father. To pray through Jesus is to make Him an intermediary between us and the Father, but to pray in the Name of Jesus means you are standing in the place of Jesus you have become His voice. In other words even if you are asking the Lord for something, Jesus is actually the one doing it, for you are asking in His Name. This is why it is impossible for God to deny your request, since you are asking by faith in the Name of Jesus.
Jesus has given us the legal right to use His Name. We have the right of attorney to function in His stead. So we can’t pray through Him anymore. He has delegated His authority to you, the same authority He had on earth to request anything of the Father and have it granted.
So, when you have a request to make of the Father and you want that request granted, do it in the Name of Jesus.
